How IP Voice Works

IP Telephony, converts voice into a digital signal (data) so that it can be sent over the internet, bypassing the traditional telephone network, thus avoiding much of the cost.

Smartoffice is slightly different though. Rather than carrying the service via the public internet, Smartoffice calls are carried via the Optus secure private network, thus ensuring voice quality.
